Every rabbit deserves a safe, loving indoor home, and every family deserves the joy of bunny companionship.

Houston Rabbit Resource rabbits are spayed or neutered, RHDV2 vaccinated, and matched carefully with adopters to help create lasting forever homes.

Why Adopt From HRR?

Support from the first hello to forever home.

Our rabbits are cared for as individuals, not numbers. Most live in foster homes where we learn their personalities, habits, and ideal matches.

Spayed or Neutered

Every adoptable rabbit is altered before adoption.

RHDV2 Vaccinated

We help protect our rabbits with essential preventive care.

Foster-Based Care

Our bunnies live in homes where they can show their true personalities.

Post-Adoption Support

We’re here to help with questions, bonding, setup, and bunny care.

How Adoption Works

A thoughtful process for happy matches.

Our adoption process helps every bunny find the right home and helps every adopter feel prepared before bringing a rabbit home.

We do not offer same-day adoptions or same-day sleepovers because we want every placement to be thoughtful and successful.

Common Questions

Can rabbits live outdoors?

We require all HRR rabbits to live indoors. Domestic rabbits are vulnerable to extreme weather, predators, parasites, and diseases like RHDV2. Indoor rabbits are also able to bond more closely with their families and live safer, healthier lives.

Do rabbits get along with dogs or cats?

Some rabbits can coexist peacefully with dogs or cats, but introductions should always be slow, supervised, and based on the personalities of all animals involved. Your rabbit should always have a safe space where they can relax away from other pets if needed.

Do I need two rabbits?

Not necessarily. Many rabbits thrive as single buns when given plenty of attention and enrichment, while others enjoy having a bonded companion. If you already have a rabbit, we can help with bunny speed dates and bonding support to find a compatible match.

How much space do rabbits need?

Rabbits need room to hop, stretch, stand up fully, and explore. We recommend indoor x-pen style setups rather than small cages or hutches. Rabbits should have daily exercise time and enough space to express natural behaviors comfortably.

Can I adopt if I’ve never had a rabbit before?

Absolutely. Many of our adopters are first-time rabbit parents. Our Bunny Basics class and adoption team are here to help guide you through rabbit care, setup recommendations, diet, bonding, and more.

Already Have a Rabbit?

We can help you look for a compatible friend.

Many of our rabbits are available for bunny speed dates and bonding support. If your rabbit is fixed, we can help you look for a companion with a personality that may be a good fit.

Bonding can take time, patience, and a safe setup, but you do not have to figure it out alone.
