How to Adopt
Thank you for looking into adopting one of our wonderful rabbits. Adopting a rabbit helps not just the one being adopted, but the next one that needs a place to stay. Just like any other pet, they are a huge responsibility, so we make sure that anyone who is seeking to adopt is not doing so without knowing exactly what caring for one entails.
Policies & Requirements
Most of our rabbits have come from situations where they were let down by their “family” and discarded for various reasons. Then they meet a foster home where they are shown the love and care they deserve while they wait for their forever home. Our foster homes work hard to mend their broken hearts and get to know the personality of our rabbits, and because of all the care we put in to getting these rabbits to come out of their shell, we carefully screen each potential adopter before they get to meet any of them. The following requirements must be met for anyone who is seeking to adopt one of our rabbits:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- The primary caretaker must be an adult. Children should not be given full responsibility of caring for an animal.
- Must not have been convicted of animal abuse/cruelty
- Must fill out an adoption application
- Must understand how to properly care for a rabbit
- Must keep the rabbit indoors
- Must have any other rabbits in the home spayed/neutered
- Must be kept separate from other pets in the household (cats and dogs) unless under strict supervision or proper introductions and bonding have been done
