Bunnies & Bams: An HRR Mahjong Night

We love any excuse to bring people together at the HRR Center, especially when it involves Mahjong, snacks and a few very nosy rabbits.

Bunnies & Bams is our first Mahjong night, and you do not have to be an expert to join us. You do not even have to know how to play.

We’ll have light bites and drinks starting at 6 PM, then at 6:30 PM we’ll kick off a beginner lesson for anyone who has been Mahjong-curious but hasn’t known where to start. If you already know your way around the tiles, we’ll have tables ready for open play too.

And please do not go buy a Mahjong set just for this. We’ll have the sets and supplies ready for you. Come with friends, come with your usual Mahjong crew or come on your own and we’ll help you find a table.

Of course, this is an HRR event, so there will also be some very important staff on duty.

Tip Your Bunny Waiter
Lazarus and a few of our other HRR Ambassabuns will be joining us for the evening as servers, cheerleaders and extremely unqualified Mahjong supervisors.

They may stop by your table to inspect your game, celebrate a good hand, oversee important tile decisions or simply make sure everyone is having an acceptable amount of fun.

If your bunny waiter provides exceptional service, feel free to leave them a little “tip” by making an extra donation to HRR.

They accept all major credit cards. They would prefer bananas.

And while Bunnies & Bams is meant to be a fun Friday night out, every ticket also helps support the rabbits in our care and the work HRR does for Houston’s bunny community, from rescue and medical care to education, resources and support for rabbit families.

So come shuffle some tiles, grab a drink, eat some snacks, meet your bunny waitstaff and maybe even win a prize or two.
